I Love My……

Back in 2006 I discovered Vera Wang Princess, browsing through an old copy of vogue I found a thick page with a tester. As soon as I smelt the perfume I tore out the page and took it home. Now “Princess” is part of my everyday routine. I was first taken in by the photography, I loved the fairytale themed costumes, there was a hint of romance in the campagne as all fairytales do.

The Perfume Shop describe the scent as a “mixture of waterlily, apple, mandarin meringue, and golden apricot skin, dark chocolate, amber, musk, and vanilla.”

I would describe it as a very sexy yet playful scent. Other versions of the perfume have been released such as Rock Princess, Princess Night, Glam Princess, Preppy Princess and Flower Princess. The original will always be my favorite!

Photography is an ever growing popular hobby today, with the launch of instargram, Urban outfitters selling Lomography cameras and film and even a new instamatic camera from Fuji taking the stage.
When I was little I remember having my photograph taking on a Polaroid camera, I was amazed that I could slowly see an image slowly appearing. Soon my mother brought me an izone camera which produced tiny photographs slightly larger than a stamp. The film proved hard to come by in stores so I only used the camera once. Later on in 2006 Polaroid (who made the camera) revealed they were discontinuing the film.

A few years down the line I Brought a Polaroid camera of ebay, when it arrived a memorizing smell came out of the case. It was the old musty smell of an old cupboard; It instantly made me feel like I was travelling back to the 1970’s (which is a decade I haven’t lived through).
I loved the bulk of the camera and the coloured stripes; I wanted to use my new gadget so went in search for some film. The Polaroid film had stopped being produce so I had to buy film from a company called, Impossible Project. To my surprise the film was extremely expensive, £20 for 8 photographs (not including P&P). I headed over to ebay and brought some for around half price.
Unfortunately the film wasn’t what I expected, It had a very blue tinge and hardly shown any other colours also a lot of the photos were quite over exposed due the film being shot out of the device too quickly. I still have a pack of film left which I should probably use soon because I’ve had it for over a year.

Earlier this year I splashed out on a Fuji Instax 7s camera (another instamatic camera). The colours we’re sharp, pictures were clear and they had that slightly special golden ting that film has, to them. They were amazing, despite being the size of a credit card.
The camera does however take a lot of batteries and the film is quite expensive but I buy it in bulk from Japan, It works out a lot cheaper this way, around £4 for a pack of film.
If you like to take the creative approach to photography, there are a number of accessories you can attach to the device such as coloured or warped lens. Also there is a technique for creating double exposures, you have to open the back of the camera slightly (careful not exposing the film to light).
This camera is one of my favortive and comes in handy for scrap book too, or for my college work book.

Barbie Doll Dress

barbie

I made this small dress last week, I was too tired to finish the bottom hem but it’s fully complete now. I made my own T-shaped block for the doll and worked from it. I came up with the idea after memorizing the times I used to play with my Barbie dolls as a girl. I used to love dressing them up but I realised I could make mini fashions for cheap for a university portfolio, my blog or just for fun. It’s grate working with Barbie because you get to have all the fun of the dream fashion industry jobs such as Fashion Designer, Fashion Photographer and Stylist.

I think I’ll be uploading a few more in the future and I am planning on making a mini version of my life size dress for the doll to model.

I Love My……

Dr Pepper

Dr Pepper! I created this photo for an online competition last year titled “Pepperhood”, unfortunately I didn’t win but I bagged 2 cinema tickets and went to see “My week with Marilyn”. I also won the pink pair on pants on my head as well as 4 more, Dr Pepper done the “Win pants or prizes” competition again eariler this year but I didn’t win anything. Some of the text messages sent to me stated that I had entered the code wrong. When I re-sent it I had a reply telling me they had already received that code. I think it might have been a bit of a con!
